The Challenge
Women represent only 25% of technology roles in Africa, underscoring a persistent gender gap and the need to expand women’s access to future-oriented digital skills, particularly as climate-related challenges drive growing demand for technology-enabled solutions.
The Innovation
A fully funded, end-to-end software engineering programme that equips young women without access to higher education with industry-aligned skills, enabling career entry and advancement in technology through residential training and sustained alumni upskilling. Gather’s funding will strengthen the programme’s climate resilience focus and accelerate pathways into climate-focused digital jobs.
